This tactical map features a slow-moving, muddy river cutting through a wild, overgrown landscape. Thick patches of dense reeds line the slippery banks, providing excellent natural concealment but severely limiting visibility and movement speed. The murky waters obscure the riverbed, making any crossing a dangerous gamble against hidden threats lurking just below the surface. Large sandbanks emerge unpredictably across the waterway, serving as temporary stepping stones or natural ambush points for massive crocodiles. Tactically, these solid grounds offer a brief respite from the difficult terrain of the water and mud, but they also expose characters to ranged attacks. VTT grids can easily snap to the winding banks, with lighting set to emphasize the gloomy, oppressive atmosphere of an untamed African river setting.
