Hidden beneath a defiled monastery altar, this vast and gloomy underground crypt reeks of ancient decay. The chamber is entirely submerged in darkness, requiring characters to rely on torches or darkvision, which naturally restricts line of sight and heightens the sense of creeping dread. Shadows cling to the rough-hewn stone walls, providing ample opportunities for stealthy ambushes by lurking creatures or cultists. At the center of the subterranean layout sits a massive, profane stone sarcophagus, serving both as the focal point of the room and as formidable heavy cover during a firefight or melee clash. A single hidden trapdoor serves as the primary choke point for entry and exit, making tactical positioning crucial. VTT walls and lighting can be configured to emphasize the oppressive darkness, while the sarcophagus itself can be set up as an interactive object for players brave enough to desecrate it.
