The air in this sublevel hums with the oppressive vibration of massive cooling towers and a failing fusion reactor. This industrial battlemap presents the mechanical heart of an underground bunker, where broken catwalks span across treacherous pools of glowing heavy water. Tactically, the layout offers severe environmental hazards. The missing grates on the elevated catwalks create dangerous chokepoints and a constant risk of falling into the toxic coolant below. Solid cover can be found behind the humming machinery and reinforced bulkheads, but stray energy blasts might easily rupture the highly pressurized pipes surrounding the core. Game Masters can utilize the leaking reactor as a literal ticking time bomb to pressure the players. Encounters here can range from desperate repair missions against the clock to ambushing mutated creatures or rogue security droids lurking in the steam-filled shadows.
