The Alkaline Volcanic Lakes map presents a vast, unforgiving environment defined by highly caustic water expanses and jagged mineral deposits. The shorelines are treacherous, featuring crusty alkaline formations that serve as unstable footing for investigators. A seemingly endless sea of pink flamingos blankets the water, creating a surreal and distracting visual hazard that can easily mask the approach of cultists or otherworldly entities. Tactically, the terrain is hostile. The toxic water acts as a severe environmental hazard, damaging characters who fall in or attempt to wade through without proper protection. The scattered volcanic rocks offer sparse, low cover against ranged attacks, while the dense flocks of flamingos block lines of sight and create dynamic, moving obstacles. VTT masters can utilize vision-blocking walls on the larger rocky outcroppings and apply environmental damage macros to the lake zones.
